YBW Google Reviews

Google reviews on your WordPress website

YBW Google Reviews is a WordPress plugin from Your BizWeb Guy. It lets an authorized Google Business Profile owner or manager connect Google, choose their business location, and display that location’s reviews on their website using a Divi module or shortcode.

Direct website connection: the plugin connects from each WordPress website using that website’s configured Google credentials. The former shared Reviews gateway and owner-only pilot were retired on October 16, 2026. Google API access, account permissions and applicable policies still apply; this is not a claim of blanket Google approval or eligibility for every business.

How the Google connection works

You choose to connect your Google account and review Google’s permission screen. The plugin offers the business locations accessible to that account. You select the location that belongs to your website, then request review synchronization.

Google’s Business Profile APIs use the broad business.manage permission. Google’s permission description includes managing listings, but the plugin’s direct connection only discovers accounts and locations and reads reviews. They do not edit listings, publish posts, change managers, or post replies. Your Google password is not provided to Your BizWeb Guy.

Displaying your reviews

Reviews may include a rating, reviewer display name and profile photo, review text, date and existing owner reply. The plugin provides review cards, pagination and a floating review badge. Website display filters can select reviews by star rating. Those filters do not change Google’s source rating or total review count and must not be presented as an unfiltered complete feed.

Data use and retention

The direct connection stores encrypted Google authorization credentials on the connected WordPress website, using that installation’s authentication keys. Authorized website administrators and hosting providers may access the website and its stored information. The retired shared Reviews gateway is not used for these direct connections.

The current plugin sets a maximum 28-day lifetime from retrieval for synchronized Business Profile review content and source rating/count summaries. It excludes expired content from display and provides cleanup routines. Physical deletion depends on cleanup execution; page-cache handling, idle-site scheduling and backup/recovery safeguards must be managed for each website. Existing backups do not disappear immediately when active records are removed.

We use Google data for the connection and review-display features described here, not for sale, advertising or training general AI models. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Read our Privacy Policy for data categories, access, storage, sharing, retention and deletion details.

Disconnecting and requesting deletion

Use the plugin’s direct Google disconnect control to stop retrieval and, after successful disconnection, remove the saved authorization and temporary Business Profile review content. If Google cannot confirm revocation, the connection stays stopped and the operation is reported as incomplete for retry. Independently managed testimonials and historical backups are separate; disconnection does not delete reviews from Google.

Google access can also be revoked through your Google Account’s third-party connections controls. That can affect other connections using the same Google app and account.
